A coffee bean like no other rests on the plentiful slopes of Africa’s oldest volcano, Mount Elgon: the Ugandan Organic Bugisu. Family farms source this bean, and it’s named after the people native to the area: the Bugisu. The Sipi Falls Coffee Project has been regulating this bean and providing support since 1999 and has evolved to protect over 2,000 hectares of production. Agronomic practices have constantly improved over the years in order to yield more coffee at its best quality through intercropping, which allows the beans to have the vital nutrients they need.
Tasting Notes: Light body and mild acidity with underlying notes of chocolate and dark fruits with an earthy finish.
~15 ounce bag (medium roast or dark roast) About enough for a 12 cup pot a day, for one week.
